Today I was a giraffe! That's what you do on Halloween....you dress up like something silly or scary. So, I was a giraffe. We had Aiden and Linda over this morning for spiced apple cider and pumpkin carving. Then, in the afternoon we went to the circus with Priya...Mommy's friend. All very fun. I like Halloween. I can't wait till next year though....I'll understand a little more what's happening and with any luck I'll be home in the US trick or treating.

Today is MY day!
Finally, after months of struggle and stress and postponements....today was MY day in court. We went to the courthouse early this morning and the judge read out his decision.....that it is in my best interest to legally joining the Bowman clan and so, today, my name is changed from Vailet Daudi Mapuga to Clara Shei Violet Bowman.
I had such a fun day today. I was in the best mood right from the start. Usually, I'm a pretty shy girl in pubic, but today, while we were waiting outside the judges chambers, I was playing and laughing and being very silly. After the decision, we came home and picked up Akira and we all went out to eat at Blue Heron for a lunch time celebration. Then, it was home for a quick nap, and then Mommy invited some of our friends over for a little impromptu celebration tonight.
Tomorrow we start all the hard stuff again, the paperwork chase through the halls of Tanzanian government to ensure that all my paperwork is in order, and the VERY tough task of getting our US immigration in order. But, for today....we are just going to celebrate that I am officially Akira's little sister today.

Our last adoption hearing?
Today we had our rescheduled adoption hearing. It seemed to go pretty well. Mr. Panga gave a nice report...the judge didn't have any questions and he scheduled the decision to be read out in just 5 days. Probably if there were any concerns, they would have been voiced then! So....I'm hoping it's smooth sailing now and in five days the judge will give a positive ruling and I will be officially Clara Shei Violet Bowman.
Fingers crossed!!!

Movin and Grovin
Well, I'm a crawler now. I started out with the commando/military crawl. But, I've graduated now to a full crawl. I am also standing and putting my weight on my legs (of course with help balancing from someone). And, I am trying to pull myself up wherever I am. I want to be liberated and pretty soon....I will be!!!

Family Visit
My biological brothers Victor and Venice came to visit along with my biological auntie from Moshi. It was a really fun visit. My Dad couldn't come as he has just gotten a new job and moved to Mosoma, up by the Kenyan border on Lake Victoria. Still it was fun to have other members of my family here to visit.

Things I can do
I'm am just developing like crazy.
I can do all sorts of cool stuff now.
1) I can clap my hands!
2) I can play peek-a-boo
3) I can wave goodbye
4) I can dance (bump up and down on my bum while waving my hands frantically in the air)
5) I can imitate sounds (goodbye, Jane, Mommy, Twiga, Gogo etc)
I love to clap for my brother when we sing the big boy eater song (after he has finished all his dinner), and I love to play peek-a-boo....I think its the funniest game in the entire universe and it sends me into fits of giggles every time! Hilarious!!!
