Akira's Birthday Party

We had Akira's second birthday party a little early this year. His birthday is actually 10 September, but we wanted to celebrate his birthday early with the whole family here. So, we had a birthday party at our house for him. Don't worry though....I still had so much fun!

Grandad Arrives

My Grandad has come to Tanzania to see me! I am so happy to have so many family members who all want to see me. I'm a lucky girl. It is so fun to have my Grandad here....I can tell he thinks I'm pretty special. The only problem with his arrival is that the family plans all kind of adventures without me. They keep saying I'm too young and I won't enjoy them. Ha! Have they even tried?? I might enjoy the outings, they don't know. I think if they were being honest they would need to say that they don't think that they will enjoy the outings with me there. Absurd! I'm the most fun to be around.

Still Mommy, Bada, Gogo and Akira already went to Zanzibar without me. Now they are all planning to go to the Serengeti on safari without me. Then, they will go to Nairobi without me. Oh, and did I mention that they are taking Akira with them?? Gender discrimination.....that's allI can boil it down to!

After a very tough summer and some major losses in our lives.....we are picking ourselves up and moving on with life. Coming soon....the blog WILL continue!

(we just have to give Mommy a week or so to put together all the posts from the last few months so we don't have a blank space in our life story later).

Disappointing Day

Mommy and the rest of the family arrived back in town late last night from Zanzibar. They drove late even though its not safe in order to get back for my court hearing today for my adoption. Unfortunately, Mr. Panga, the social worker could not show up in court today as he was out of town. So, our case was postponed. The next chance we have for a court date is 22 September. We are all so disappointed today.

Two for Tea

Today was a play date at Blue Heron. Usually, I would say that it was a play date for Aki and Aiden at Blue Heron. But.....today was MY day. Aki and Aiden were not so interested in playing with each other today. Aki was off exploring by himself and Aiden came to play with ME today! YAY for me having friends to play with. It was SO MUCH FUN!

A Girls Weekend Away

This weekend was SO MUCH FUN! We left Aki and Uncle Gogo behind and headed out of town. Me, Mommy, Bada and some friends, Priya and her Mom! We decided to go away to Karatu overnight. It's about a two hour drive away and is the town at the gates of two very big game parks here in Tanzania, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. This weekend we decided to go to Lake Manyara. We saw sooooo many animals. And, then we stayed overnight at a lodge in Karatu and the next day we went to a very nice lodge that Mommy knows about for lunch at their farm. All in all, it was such a fun and relaxing weekend....everyone had a really nice time. I was really happy to get away as well. I sooo love my brother, but he is a little ham and he takes an awful lot of attention. It was really nice to get to have all the grown up attention on little 'ol ME for a change!

Mr. Panga

I met the famous, or infamous, Mr. Panga today. It was our official meeting with him before the court date in two weeks. He was 2 hours late. Both Mommy and my Bio Dad, Daudi got off work to come to the meeting and had to go back when it was over. They weren't so happy about Pole Pole Tanzania today!

When he arrived he asked Mommy some seriously silly questions all about how she was now adopting two children and what would happen when she stopped loving us. She tried to explain that she wasn't planning to stop loving Aki and I anytime in the near future, but she appreciated the food for thought. What a silly man. Anyway....he bored me so much that I fell right asleep when he got there.

We are just glad that the meeting is over and we can get on with this show!

A weekend with Bestamom

We played a bit at home with my new fun toy. Bestamom brought me a pad to sit on that has animals all around it and when I push on them, they make the animal sounds! Sooo cool!!!

Then, we went and saw the real version of the animals in the Arusha National Park! Super cool....
